FAQ

How do I download the sewing pattern?

After you place your order, you get a confirmation email with a download link. Make sure your email address is correct. If you do not get the email, check your spam folder. If it is not there either, send a message to info@mascultory.com with your name and your correct email address.

Save the file to your computer and unzip it with a right click on PC or a double click on Mac. The subfolders contain the instructions and the pattern PDFs for home printers and for A0 format.

Smartphones struggle to show all PDFs within a folder, so it’s best to use a PC or Mac.

Every pattern contains these files:
-Instructions.pdf
-HomePrinter.pdf
-A0.pdf

Each size has a separate PDF.

How to choose my size?

Compare Before Purchasing. There is no universal standard for sizing. Size labels like M / L / 40 / 50 vary widely between regions and brands, so they're not a reliable way to choose your size. On top of that every brand has their unique fits and aesthetics.

Use a measuring tape to measure yourself and compare your body measurements with the body measurement table provided in the picture section of each listing. This is the only reliable way to choose the correct size.

Here is how to take body measurements

If you have a similar garment, you can also compare its measurements, laid flat, with the garment measurement table. Always compare your body measurements with the body measurement table, and compare flat garment measurements with the garment measurement table. These two charts are not interchangeable, and confusing them will lead to incorrect sizing. If you'd like to learn more about garment ease, please read the following article:

How to print?

Home Printer PDF
Please use a PC or Mac with a PDF viewer for printing
(not a Smartphone, not an App, not a Web-browser).

The PDF will print correctly on both A4 and US Letter paper. The pattern is smaller than both paper sizes, so it will always fit.

Set your printer to 100% (actual size). Do not use ‘fit to page’ or ‘shrink,’ as this will change the scale. Each page has a frame of 10½ × 7¾" (26.7 × 19.7 cm). Check that the frame prints at these exact dimensions. If any edge of the black border is missing, adjust your printer settings.

Watch this Video on assembling the pages

A0 PDF

If you prefer not to tape pages, use the A0 PDF in the subfolder after unzipping. Do not confuse it with the home printer PDF. The page size is shown in the upper left corner.

A0 PDF dimensions: 32¼ × 46" (81.9 × 116.8 cm)

Ask your printing service to measure the frame and test square on the printed sheet before sending it to you.

How much fabric do I need?

The fabric consumption is listed in the picture section under tools/devices/supplies/materials in the lower right corner. Here is an example:

If you’re wondering how much fabric you need for size S in this case, use the same amount as for size M. It’s best to buy slightly more fabric than the exact amount listed.

Which languages and formats are supported?

All patterns are digital PDF files and available in English only.
I do not offer paper patterns or any other file format (DXF, PLT, Illustrator, 3D, etc.)

Is there a video available?

Videos are available for some patterns, but most patterns have detailed step-by-step workmanship illustrations in the instructions document. If a video is included, the link will be clearly visible in the instruction PDF.

If you face problems with a video link, please do not manually type the letters of the link into your device. Instead, click on the link provided in the instruction document or copy the exact link and paste it into the browser. Here is the link for the jeans video:

If you need to type the link manually, make sure to include the underscore after Xs_ and note that the last character is a capital i, not a lowercase L.

Do you have real-life photos of a finished garment?

Real-life photography requires extensive resources like a studio, fashion models, professional lighting, and post processing. This slows down the creation process and reduces the number of patterns I can offer.

I use professional 3D simulations, which have become the industry standard. These simulations show the exact shape, proportions, and design details of each pattern on a size M model from all angles. 3D simulations eliminate variations caused by individual body shapes, posture differences, fabric color, draping and lighting conditions. This method provides a neutral, consistent, and accurate view of how each pattern translates into a garment.

My professional expertise is in pattern making, fitting accuracy, and workmanship, not photography or marketing. Every pattern is professionally drafted and tested for accurate fit and construction.

Do you offer customized patterns?

If you have a specific design in mind that you would like to see in my shop, please send me a message with inspiration pictures. I’m open for suggestions!

And who are you?

I started sewing as a teenager in the 90s and later studied apparel engineering and fashion design. After working as a professional patternmaker for many years in the industry, I became a freelancer. This shop is separate from my freelance work and focuses on helping home sewists with my DIY patterns. I'm not very active on social media, but I put a lot of care into my work. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
